Learning About Immediate Dental Implants...
While there are many different types of dental implants, our team is experienced in the placement of immediate implants which can be done on-site without the need to travel to an oral surgeon.
HOW ARE IMMEDIATE IMPLANTS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER IMPLANTS ?
Dental implant therapy has been one of the most significant advances in dentistry in past 25 year. Tens of thousands of grateful patients bear witness to the benefits derived from the opportunity to obtain a replacement for lost teeth that restored their smiles and confidence. But in the past implants were costly and very time consuming (8 months to year from start to finish). Immediate implants addresses both these drawbacks. Cost is not much more than a new set of dentures and well like the name says their immediate . Immediate Implants consist of a miniature titanium implant that acts like the root of your tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture. The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture acts like a socket that contains a rubber O-ring. The O-ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at a predetermined level of force. When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue. Visit your dentist in the morning, have the Immediate Implant System placed in less than two hours, then go out and enjoy your favorite lunch. Eat comfortably, have a pleasant conversation, laugh and talk with confidence. Your denture feels secure and is being held firmly in place. |
What are Traditional Dental Implants?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a periodontist places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.
While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
Dental implants are so natural-looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost a tooth. You know that your confidence about your teeth affects how you feel about yourself, both personally and professionally. Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don't feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news! Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own! Under proper conditions, such as placement by a periodontist and diligent patient maintenance, implants can last a lifetime. Long-term studies continue to show improving success rates for implants
