Local Children Receive Free Dental Care at Teays Valley Location

Wilson Martino Dental Associates’ “WV HEALTHY KIDS DRIVE” was held on Thursday, April 19th at the Scott Depot / Teays Valley location. The office, located at 4113 Teays Valley Road hosted the 4th event in the state-wide campaign by offering free dental care to area children and informational tables on children’s health benefits for parents and care-givers.
43 local children participated in the event, which was co-sponsored by V-100 f.m. The children received FREE hygiene exams, cleanings, x-rays and fluoride treatments. They were also examined by Dr. Steve Minor, who provided FREE necessary treatment (fillings, crowns, etc...) to several of the patients.
Employees from Wilson Martino Dental of Teays Valley and Charleston donated their time to help with the free dental day. Also on hand was Carol A. Brown from the DHHR who presented the Children’s Dentistry Project and Early Childhood Health Project and the West Virginia Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) sent educational materials and applications. The dental office’s mascot and member of the A.D.A. dental education team, “Dudley the Dinosaur” greeted all children with free balloons.
Wilson Martino Dental Associates’ “West Virginia Healthy Kids Drive” was created so that families could obtain the information necessary to apply for and receive health benefits for their children. Dr. Robert Martino, CEO of the seven-office dental organization said “West Virginia has so many great programs available that provide health insurance for children and their families. Through this event, we were able to provide dental care and raise awareness of the state assistance programs. It is our goal that no child in West Virginia goes without health benefits.”
